Apex Controls had a large online store, selling thousands of products in an older system. Migrating the site to a new modern environment gave a massive improvement in UI, especially in the mobile experience.
The design was inspired by the Apex logo, in order to stand out from the competition and have a memorable brand. The colors and logo relate to the older version to reassure revisiting customers know they are dealing with the same company.
Many unique functions were created to make this one-of-a-kind store. With a broad list of manufacturers, the organization of the products was key. Custom product, category, and search result templates were created using hooks (filters and an action) to ensure easy compatibility with updates.
